Laser Cutting !

Make your own Karma Characters Ha !
All the parts to the three characters, including spare parts left and right !
Can never have enough hands and feet.
My teachers from my secondary school have been nice enough to let me use their laser cutter to help me make my puppet.
Even after 5 years of using the laser cutter they still use the same programme for it.
So each individual part in this image will be drawn out again in 2D Design.
Then, cut out of my A2 Hardboard, ready to be placed onto my wire armature I will be making by hand instead of purchasing like I have done in the past.

Now I'm in the fun stages of making my sets and characters, I will be posting more frequently !
I have made a tab especially for the making stages of 'Karma Kid', so you can follow my progress.

Paper Puppet

Back to work mode after the holidays !

Made a quick paper puppet today to test out her joints, and what positions I can get her in. 

Feels like I'm in College again making my Suicide Song animation.
Her butt may need to be reduced tho :P

This however will not be how my puppet will look like. After researching into Mikey Please with his Spectacular View short, I found the making of video of how his puppet looked.

Here is an image of what I collected, and wish to achieve with all three of my characters.

I will be making my own armature tho rather then using these type of joints.
This is so I can make my character lighter and with less bulk.
( ... and spend less money :P )

OH !
And now finally have my own camera thats compatible with Stop Motion Pro which I'm incredibly eager to try out !

Banyan Island

Being home has been lovely but extremely distracting.

So works being going slowly but surely.

Here is how I've spent my evening ...

So this is the Banyan Island that my characters will be living on.
I love how this has turned out, I can't wait to start making this thing !
But without realising I've coloured it :/
In my story, their floating island home, it's completely white. This is because they're floating in space near the moon to keep an eye on Earth. The reason for being white is so that they blend in with the other stars. Plus I've always wanted to make a completely white set.

So although it looks lovely with my characters above here.

It will infact look more like this below, which kinda looks dull.

We shall see what happens.

Always good to see both options though.

Introducing The Characters ...

Been teasing far too much, I've had these final designs for a few weeks now, still playing around, but here they are. Hope you like them !

The Title Logo I'm liking so far out of my Designs.

And FINALLY !!!

Here are my 3 characters ! 

(Ignore the Tortoise, Just kept him there because he's cute)

We have The Twins Good Karma and Bad Karma, Obviously one is nicer than the other. Not sure on colours yet, but was messing around with different patterns and textures here to see what they could look like. And the Purple Character is someone special at the end of my short story.

Peeks at the Set

Yes, I'm making another tree. A Banyan Tree floating around.
Really enjoyed making my last tree for Hole A In One last year. So why not make another one.
Finishing up my storyboard ready for my animatic ...
I feel my After Effects skills need to improve ... FAST !
Getting even more excited now I've settled on my set.
Next post I will show you all of the Characters.
 Hopefully they will all be coloured up !
Also might throw in some screen grabs of the Animatic so you can get a feel of whats going to happen!

Twins !

Scratch that last character, my story has changed yet again. My main characters are now twins, you can probably guess what they do. Well this one here is Bad Karma. 

Finally got my story now I think ... Lets hope.

And the characters have powers ... Oooo !
